We hope you enjoy our list of Vegas hikes and that you’re able to get some hiking in before this summer comes to an end.
1. Frenchman Mountain Summits
If you’ve always wanted to visit the Grand Canyon, but you’ve never gotten the chance to, this hike was made for you! The Frenchman Mountain’s is composed of rocks similar to those found on the bottom of the Grand Canyon, making it slightly resemble the famous landmark. The Frenchman Mountain’s is a very steep triangle peak and you are either going steeply uphill or downhill the entire time, which is why we’d recommend this trail to more advanced hikers.
2. Lone Mountain
If you don’t consider yourself an avid hiker, Lone Mountain is the perfect hike for you. Lone Mountain is only a 2.2 mile round trip hike and is short but sweet. It’s the perfect family hike and you can undoubtedly expect to get some stunning photos throughout your hike. Because it’s so short, we highly recommend going a little bit before sunset time so that you can get some breathtaking pictures of the sun setting over the city.
3. Calico Hills in Red Rock Canyon
Located in the always stunning Red Rock Canyon, Calico Hills is a moderate hike that can range from 2-6 miles depending on how far you want to take the hike. The trail runs along the base of Calico Rocks from Calico Basin to Sandstone Quarry and offers a breathtaking view of the red rock formations of Red Rock Canyon.
4. Goldstrike Hot Springs
Goldstrike Hot Springs is a one of a kind hike that every Vegas local needs to complete at least once in their lifetime. This adventurous hike begins 24 miles outside of Las Vegas in Boulder City and is not for the faint of heart. Goldstrike Hot Springs is a very advanced hike that includes many obstacles such as trekking down rivers and up slippery boulders with ropes, and is guaranteed to get you sweating. Once you have cleared all of the trails obstacles, you will arrive at the Upper Goldstrike Hot Springs pools and will be able to have some fun splashing around in the beautiful mineral pools.
